Tigi is a professional hair product brand that deeply values creating – and maintaining – striking visual impact. They needed a print partner they could trust to achieve colour consistency across all their printed material, from leaflets and posters to in-salon brochures. We were delighted that we made the cut.
The same photography was used across all the artwork, which meant that faultless colour reproduction in hair and skin tones would be crucial. We also had to guarantee 100% accuracy of colour across a range of paper and card stocks, each of which absorbs ink differently. Solving these creative and technical challenges was vital to delivering complete consistency in the finished products – as well as reflecting and protecting Tigi’s brand values and identity.
Our first step was to swiftly set up a robust production flow, explaining the process to the Tigi design team at every milestone. It was a truly collaborative process – one core stage involved recommending the best brand imagery before making each design file print ready.
We go beyond conventional norms by actively involving our clients in the production process. This was absolutely key to this project’s success – we ran a series of test prints and presented them to the Tigi team to demonstrate different options, helping them make an informed decision on the best route to take.
These samples – printed on both silk and gloss papers using digital and litho machines – effectively highlighted the impact on colour different choices would make. Armed with this knowledge, and the results of extensive lamination testing, we were able to make a confident joint decision to go ahead and print on gloss paper for consistent, high-impact material. The results were a cut above.
"Our goal was to create something truly unique which would appeal to, and catch the attention of, a high end consumer lifestyle editor. The idea came together perfectly and we were delivered a premium package which showcased our product perfectly – the unboxing experience and sense of luxury provided the wow-factor we were looking for"
